The first official teaser trailer for The Last Jedi was released during the film’s panel at Star Wars Celebration 2017 in Orlando, FL. It debuted on Friday, April 14, 2017 and just during the first weekend racked up over 25 million views.

It starts with Rey looking desperate – similar to how Finn looked in the opening of The Force Awakens trailer. Luke has started training Rey, telling her to “Breathe, just breathe. Now reach out. What do you see?” He encourages her to reach out with her feelings, it appears that she is using the Force to move things, and what looks like a far off shot of Rey training with the lightsaber while Luke watches.

Elsewhere in the galaxy, we see General Leia in a Resistance Base studying a star map, the Millennium Falcon is still in the thick of battles, Finn presumably still healing, and Poe and BB-8 in a ship that seems to be under attack.

On the Dark Side, First Order ships are on Crait, a mineral planet where an old Rebel base was located and what will be a key location in the movie. There’s an angry Kylo Ren sporting a scar on his face from where Rey sliced him open in the previous film and a brief look at Captain Phasma leading First Order Stormtroopers amid wreckage.

It closes with Luke’s ominous statement, “I only know one truth – it’s time for the Jedi to end.”

With all of the excitement the trailer produced, thankfully, we don’t have to wait too long to see the movie. The Last Jedi, written and directed by Rian Johnson (Brick, Looper), will be out on December 15, 2017.
