The Jon Berk Original Art and Comic Book Collection Auction, with three weeks of bidding remaining, is already garnering press from around the country.

Connecticut’s Hartford Courant featured an interview with Mr. Berk, including a history of the collection, and auction details in a write-up on May 9, 2017. ComicConnect’s COO, Vincent Zurzolo, appeared recently on WGN’s Chicago Scene to discuss investment comic collecting and the Berk Collection.

“It’s simply thrilling to see all of the wonder and excitement this auction has generated,” Zurzolo said. “We’re seeing more new bidders in this auction than any prior. There’s just something magical going on and it’s a joy to be a part of it.”

Just a few highlights from the collection include copies of Action Comics #1 (first appearance of Superman), Detective Comics #27 (first appearance of Batman), Captain America Comics #1 (first appearance of Cap), and the original cover art for Planet Comics #1.

“I’ve got buyers who haven’t bought a comic in years bidding in this auction,” Rob Reynolds, Director of Consignments, said. “Just when you think you’ve got it all, along comes the Jon Berk Collection Auction.”

The auction is comprised of 2,972 lots and ends the week of June 12-17, 2017.
