The Baltimore Comic-Con returns to Charm City this weekend on September 22-24, 2017. Once again, it’ll be held at the Baltimore Convention Center, located at One West Pratt Street in Baltimore, MD.
Many exciting events will be held during the convention. On Friday, September 22, Lynda Carter will join the show for a one-night-only concert for her show, The Other Side of Trouble. The Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Awards, a/k/a the Ringo Awards will be held on Saturday, September 23, with David Petersen as the keynote speaker.
The Kids Love Comics Pavilion will present family-friendly activities throughout the weekend. Several publishers will have exclusive comics and merchandise at their booths. There will also be panels all weekend for comics and pop culture fans.
On Saturday, from 4 PM to 5 PM in Room 347-348, Gemstone Publishing and The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide will host their popular panel, “LICENSED! Overstreet Looks at Licensed Comics.” From the Disney work of Carl Barks to Zorro by Alex Toth, from Planet of the Apes to Star Wars, and from The Micronauts to G.I. Joe, licensed titles have been an exciting part of the fabric of comics. Join The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide for a lively discussion of licensed comics with Mark Wheatley (Doctor Who, Jonny Quest, Tarzan), James Kuhoric (Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash, Hatchet), Joseph Rybandt (editor, Dynamite Entertainment) and Overstreet’s own J.C. Vaughn (24, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate Universe).
Baltimore Comic-Con is still primarily a comic book event with over 200 creators, artists, and writers in attendance. The convention is open Friday 1 PM to 7 PM, Saturday 10 AM to 7 PM, and Sunday 10 AM to 5 PM. One-day passes are $25 for Friday, $35 for Saturday, and $30 for Sunday. Three-day passes are available for $65, while children 10 and under are admitted free with a paid adult.
