Comic book legend Stan Lee was the one playing superhero to Hurricane Irma victims this past weekend, September 29-October 1. During the 2017 MegaCon show in Florida, Lee helped raise $25,000 for those affected by the recent hurricane.

“I feel there’s something everybody has to do to help the victims of the weather, of the hurricane. And if I can do my part by auctioning some stuff off, I’m more than happy to do it,” Lee said.

Lee auctioned off unique items and experiences, including a one-on-one dinner with Lee and a fully paid trip to Los Angeles to hang out with him. Assisting with the auction was Clerks’ director/actor Kevin Smith. The trip to LA, which included a Black Eyed Peas concert, went for $10,000. A cameo in Smith's upcoming Jay and Silent Bob Reboot drew $6,000, dinner with Stan Lee got $3,400, and a Stan Lee Spider-Man comic drew a $1,000 bid.

Along with the money raised by the auction, the convention's organizer Andrew Moyes donated $10,000 to Feeding Florida. Feeding Florida is a statewide network of food banks that are providing storm victims with food and emergency supplies.
