The Hulk will be smashing his way through comic pages once again, thanks to an announcement made by Marvel confirming that World War Hulk II will be arriving soon. A sequel to the wildly popular 2007 storyline World War Hulk, this new series will star the character of Amadeus Cho; it will be handled by the creative team of Greg Pak and Carlo Barberi.

The original World War Hulk storyline followed up on the successful Planet Hulk arc, in which Bruce Banner was shot off into space. He landed on the planet Sakaar, and had to fight his way through gladiatorial matches before leading a resistance movement to reclaim the planet. After the death of the woman he loved, he returned to Earth, enraged and seeking revenge against those who sent him off-planet to begin with. It appears as though Cho will be following largely in Banner’s footsteps.

“To survive on the savage world of Sakaar, Amadeus Cho was forced to unleash his darkest impulses,” Executive Editor Tom Brevoort said. “Returning to Earth, now the Hulk is at the wheel—and it’s a more unpredictable, more unconquerable Hulk than any we’ve seen before! The heroes of the Marvel Universe must intercede as the Formerly Awesome Hulk begins to carve his own path across the world.”

World War Hulk II will kick off in the pages of Incredible Hulk #714.
