The Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Awards is an annual celebration of the creativity, skill, and fun of comics. The Ringo Awards includes fan participation in the nomination process along with an esteemed jury of comics professionals. On September 29, 2018, the award show is returning for their second year at 19th annual The Baltimore Comic-Con

The Ringo Awards is returning thanks to the support from their 2017 inaugural year sponsors: Baltimore Comic Con; Cards, Comics & Collectibles, The Amazing Comic Shop; BOOM! Studios; Geppi Family Enterprises; Painted Visions; AfterShock Comics; SC Comicon: Valiant Entertainment; Abrams ComicArts; Archie Comic Publications; Dark Horse Comics; DC Entertainment; Flesk Publications; IDW Publishing; Scholastic; Source Point Press; and ‘Toon Tumblers.

During the Ringo Awards, more than 20 categories will be celebrated with top honors being given at an awards ceremony. Based on juror feedback from their inaugural year, the Ringo Awards has added two new categories to the 2018 ballot. Open to Fans and Pros is the new category “Best Kids Comic or Graphic Novel,” while the Fan-Only Favorites category will now feature “Favorite Publisher.” Nomination ballot voting will be open to the public (fans and pros) starting March 15 and will close May 30.

Also new this year is the offer to enabling publishers to submit works for consideration to the Ringo Jurors. Publishers can submit up to five submissions per Fan and Pro Nomination and Jury-Only Nomination category. To participate in this process, publishers are asked to have a single representative send an email to contact@ringoawards.com for further information.
