As revealed via EON Productions and MGM, the 25th James Bond film will be released on October 25, 2019 in the U.K. with the U.S. release set for the following month on November 8. Along with confirming the release date, the companies announced that Danny Boyle (Trainspotting) is directing the spy adventure film. 

“We are delighted to announce that the exceptionally talented Danny Boyle will be directing Daniel Craig in his fifth outing as James Bond in the 25th installment of the franchise,” longtime Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said in a joint statement. “We will begin shooting Bond 25 at Pinewood Studios in December with our partners at MGM and thrilled that Universal will be our international distributor.” 

In addition to the return of Daniel Craig as the iconic spy, this film will reunite Boyle with John Hodge (Trainspotting) as he pens the script – based on an idea by Boyle.

Beginning with 2006’s Casino Royale, Sony served as the co-distributor of the previous four Bond films. However, Universal has since beat out Sony for international distribution rights and is moving forward on the currently untitled 25th James Bond film. 

Filming on the project is scheduled to begin December 3, 2018.
