Five decades after the original film graced the silver screen, the magical Mary Poppins is flying back into theaters in Mary Poppins Returns. Ahead of the 2019 Christmas release, Walt Disney Studios has dropped the full trailer for the hotly-anticipated sequel. 

The enchanting trailer sees Emily Blunt (A Quiet Place) take over the role of the titular nanny, originally made famous by Julie Andrews. The film takes place years after the original, with Jane and Michael Banks now adults. 

“In Depression-era London, a now-grown Jane and Michael Banks, along with Michael’s three children, are visited by the enigmatic Mary Poppins following a personal loss. Through her unique magical skills, and with the aid of her friend Jack, she helps the family rediscover the joy and wonder missing in their lives,” reads the official synopsis. 

Along with tons of supercalifragilisticexpialidocious footage, the trailer offers a look at Lin Manuel Miranda (Curb Your Enthusiasm) as Jack the chimney sweep.

Directed by Rob Marshall, the film stars Blunt, Miranda, Ben Whishaw (Spectre), Emily Mortimer (30 Rock), Julie Walters (Harry Potter), Colin Firth (Kingsman: The Golden Circle), Dick Van Dyke (Mary Poppins), Angela Lansbury (Little Women), and Meryl Streep (The Post). 

Mary Poppins Returns is set to arrive in theaters on December 19, 2019.
