This is the droid you’re looking for! Director Jon Favreau took to Instagram to confirm the addition of popular bounty hunter IG-88 for his live-action television series Star Wars: The Mandalorian

The droid bounty hunter made his debut in 1980’s The Empire Strikes Back as another bounty hunter who responded to the call of Darth Vader to track down the Millennium Falcon. With his arsenal of weapons, including blaster rifles, concussion disks, and a flamethrower, IG-88 was considered a chief rival of Boba Fett. It remains to be seen how much of a role IG-88 will play in the upcoming series.

Created by Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog, and Nick Nolte. The series is expected to premiere on Disney’s streaming service, Disney+, sometime in 2019.
