On May 11, 2019, WatchWorks Comics is hosting a grand opening for their shop on 814 South Main Street in Mocksville, North Carolina. During the opening, WatchWorks will be having a cookout with free hotdogs and hamburgers and all the fixin’s.

Special guests include Andy Smith (Iron Fist) and Budd Root (Cavewoman), who will be on-hand for signings and to draw sketches. There will be a ton of free comics and prints at the event, as well as a commemorative limited edition print of 50 available for purchase. WatchWorks will also have kid-friendly comics and welcomes cosplayers.

Store owner Chris Underwood has been in the comics business for 15 years, via the web. According to Underwood his brick and mortar store is the only comic shop within 30 miles of the location.

WatchWorks specializes in signed comics, variants, indie comics, graded comics, and comic art. They also submit comics to CGC for customers and do in-house comic pressing.
