According to Variety, Moonlight’s Naomie Harris is “in talks” to join Venom 2. The Oscar-nominated actress is rumored to play the villainous Shriek opposite Tom Hardy’s antihero Venom.

Real name Frances Louise Barrison, Shriek is a psychopath with the ability to manipulate sound and the minds of others. Her crimes eventually land her in the Ravencroft mental institution, where she meets Cletus Kasady/Carnage. Throughout the Spider-Man comics, she has served as Carnage’s top lieutenant and lover.

Hardy is reprising his role as Eddie Brock/Venom, with Woody Harrelson back as Carnage, along with Michelle Williams as Anne Weying.

Andy Serkis is on board to direct, with Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Amy Pascal returning as producers, alongside Hutch Parker. Kelly Marcel is penning the script for the follow-up to the 2018 film.

Harris can next be seen in the thriller Black and Blue, reprising her role as Eve Moneypenny for No Time to Die and is currently filming The Third Day opposite Jude Law.

Sony made no comment on the casting and has yet to announce a release for Venom 2
