Our panel discussion for this year’s Comic-Con International: San Diego, “LICENSED: Overstreet Looks at Licensed Comics,” is set for Saturday, July 22, 2017, from 12 PM to 1 PM in Room 9 at the San Diego Convention Center.

From the earliest Disney comics to the movie and TV tie-ins of the 1950s to Star Wars and Buffy, licensed titles have long dotted the comic book landscape. From ROM to Captain Action, and from Star Trek to Stargate Universe, they have played an important part in the fan experience. Join us for a lively panel discussion as The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide welcomes Chris Ryall (ROM), Mark Wheatley (Tarzan, Jonny Quest), Mark L. Haynes (Stargate Universe, 24), Andy Mangels (Wonder Woman ’77 Meets The Bionic Woman), and Ed Catto (Captain Action), moderated by Overstreet's J. C. Vaughn (Stargate Atlantis, 24).

“Maybe it was DC’s Star Trek or Marvel’s Planet of the Apes magazine or Micronauts or Godzilla that was one of your favorites. Maybe it’s the new ROM or Power Rangers that tops your present reading list. Maybe you collect the great Dell Four Color issues. Licensed comics cut a wide swath through comic book history and we’re game for discussing it all,” said Vaughn, Gemstone Publishing’s Vice-President of Publishing. “Come join us for a fun give-and-take!”

Editor’s note: Due to circumstances beyond our control, previously announced panelist James Kuhoric (Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash) won’t be able to attend the convention and so will not be on the panel. We are very pleased to note that both Mark Wheatley and Andy Mangels have been added to the panel.
