Over 1,000 lots of rare and sought after posters will be offered by Heritage in their Movie Posters Signature Auction on July 30-31, 2016. Rarely seen horror gems in the auction are Son of Frankenstein style A one-sheet and Dracula’s Daughter one-sheet. They’ll be joined by a Casablanca insert and Morocco style B one-sheet.

The auction will also feature a wide selection of posters from Hollywood’s silent film days. “Rarely do we get a collection of such early and significant film posters in such quantity as this wonderful group of 100-year-old posters, many of which are unrestored and in an unused state,” said Grey Smith, Director of Vintage Posters at Heritage Auctions. “It's not going too far to suggest that this well may be the best selection of these types of posters Heritage has ever offered.”

The silent film grouping is filled with nearly 100 titles from 1915 to 1920, boasting the talents of Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks, Charlie Chaplin, Fatty Arbuckle, William S. Hart, Theda Bara, Lon Chaney, and many more.

Titles include D.W. Griffith's Birth of a Nation, Chaplin in Triple Trouble and Chase Me Charlie, Pickford in The Little American, Hart in Riddle Gawne and Chaney in The Penalty.

“We are so excited to get this great selection of one-sheets, three-sheets, six-sheets and lobby cards from this early period in cinema history,” said Smith. “Collectors of this kind of vintage paper are going to like what they see.”

Other highlights in the auction are The 39 Steps one-sheet, Cannonball Run II original acrylic painting by Drew Struzan, and Out of the Past one-sheet.

Heritage will also offer 25 animation posters with a pre-war Terrytoons: 2,000 B.C., Private Pluto, The Old Army Game, and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
