On March 16, 2017, Legend’s Premier Session Internet Auction for March closed after realizing an impressive total of $373,368. Throughout the 13 days the sale was open, the auction experienced strong bidding activity. A large variety of coins were offered, including the ever-popular high-end bust half dollars.

One of the top lots proved to be the 1C 1877 PCGS MS64 BN CAC, which soared past the $7,000 estimate to bring in $9,350. Not far behind was a 50C 1814 PCGS AU55 CAC. This fine coin was estimated at $4,000, but ended up reaching $6,325. Additional highlights from the auction included a 25C 1842-O Large Date PCGS AU53 CAC which realized $1,760; a 25C 1911 PCGS PR66+ CAM CAC that sold for $3,740; a 50C1834 Small Date, Small Letters PCGS AU58+ CAC which reached $3,630; a $1 1878-CC NGC MS64 DMPL CAC realized for $2,310; and a Proof Set 1955 NGC PR69 which sold for $1,760.

“The results show yet again that you do not need to have thousands of coins to have big results. As well as a 25C 1869-S PCGS AU55 CAC; 25C 1909 PCGS PR67+ CAC; 50C 1880 PCGS PR66 CAM; 50C 1942 PCGS PR68 CAC; $3 1862 PCGS AU58+ CAC; $3 1864 PCGS AU58 CAC; and 25C 1870 J-919 PCGS PR65+ CAC Ex Eliasberg-Simpson.

These and other fine lots for the April Premier Session will be available for viewing at table 643 during the Whitman Baltimore Expo, between March 30 and April 1. Additional upcoming events will be held in June, August, September, and November.
