On May 11, 2017, Heritage Auctions is hosting an Historical Manuscripts Grand Format Auction in Dallas, TX.

Items in the sale are a Hernán Cortés letter signed “El Marqués”; Robert E. Lee autographed letter; and Treaty of Paris handwritten report from Thomas Digges to Lord Shelburne.

A Charles Darwin signed letter; American Revolution Second Continental Congress broadside announcing resolutions for the establishment of the American Army, May 27, 1778, printed by John Dunlap; and David Hume autograph letter are included.

Additional highlights are a Thomas Edison Manufacturing Company, pencil drawings, schematics and blueprints concerning Edison 400 amp battery; Japanese Hinomaru Yosegaki flag captured during the Salween Campaign and presented to Colonel John Hart Caughey by Chinese General Wei Li-Huan; and Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette autographed letter signed to Alexander Hamilton.
