Heritage’s February 25, 2018 Sunday Internet Comics Auction broke the previous record for a weekly sale, climbing to $418,044. Bidders were active, prompting nine of the top ten lots to receive at least ten bids. As part of the sale, three copies of Amazing Fantasy #15 claimed three of the four top spots.

This total broke the previous record of $341,696, which was set just three months ago in November 2017.

In addition to that impressive total, Heritage’s Comics & Comic Art Auction on February 22-24 realized a staggering $8,620,797. With that Sunday auction total added in, the comics department realized over $9 million that week.

“Our formula is simple: auction 800 or more lots of comics, comic art, and animation art every week, with no reserves, and with returns accepted on uncertified comics,” Heritage Comics Director of Operations Barry Sandoval said. “Of course, to make that work you need a lot of quality material in the pipeline, and I’m happy to report that we have exactly that.”

In that sale, four lots achieved five-figure sales, including Amazing Fantasy #15 CGC 4.5 for $26,290, Amazing Fantasy #15 CGC 3.5 for $20,315, Jim Starlin and Joe Rubinstein Avengers Annual #7 page 28 original art for $15,535, and Amazing Fantasy #15 CGC 2.5 for $13,145.

Other top sales were The Incredible Hulk #1 UK Edition CGC 3.5 for $9,560, Fantastic Four #1 CGC 3.5 for $8,365, X-Men #1 CGC 5.0 for $6,273, Fantastic Four #1 CGC 2.5 for $5,497, and Frank Brunner and Steve Leialoha Howard the Duck #1 page 15 original art for $5,019.
