With the latest ComicLink Focused Auction now open, sellers of comic books, original artwork, and other collectibles can now reserve placement for other upcoming ComicLink auctions. Options include the Spring Featured Auction which will begin on May 3, 2018, as well as the April Focused Auction which will begin on April 12 and will include a session for vintage certified coins. Interested sellers may contact ComicLink by emailing buysell@comiclink.com or by calling (617) 517-0062 (option 1) to speak with Josh Nathanson, Douglas Gillock, Jason Crosby, Jon Signorelli, or Ross Kearney.

In addition to auctioning items for consignors, ComicLink is also always accepting new sellers for the ComicLink exchange marketplaces, brokering private placement deals, and buying outright. Upfront cash advances are available for quality consignments.

The Spring Featured Auction has three major high grade Silver Age keys already posted to the online auction preview. Journey Into Mystery #83 (first Thor) CGC 9.4 and Tales of Suspense #39 (first Iron Man) CGC 9.4 are two major first appearances that rarely appear in public auction in Near Mint condition. Also recently added to the Spring Featured, is Fantastic Four #1 (first Fantastic Four) CBCS 8.5, which ushered in the Silver Age Marvel era of comic books. A few of the other highlights already consigned to this auction are Action Comics #23 (first Luthor) CGC 5.5, Amazing Spider-Man #3 (first Doc Ock) CGC 9.4, Batman #1 (first Joker and Catwoman) CGC 2.0, Brave and the Bold #28 (first Justice League) CGC 7.5, Detective Comics #71 (classic Robinson Joker cover) CGC 6.5, and Tales of Suspense #57 CGC 9.6 (first Hawkeye). There are also Fantucchio pedigree examples that are among the highest graded for Brave and the Bold, Journey Into Mystery, and other titles.

A significant original art highlight just added within the last few days to the Spring Featured Auction is Todd McFarlane’s cover to Amazing Spider-Man #311 featuring Spider-Man battling Mysterio. It’s the memorable cover where we see Spidey reflected in Mysterio’s globe-like helmet. It’s one of only a handful of covers from McFarlane’s famous run to feature one of the classic Lee/Ditko Spider-Man villains. McFarlane’s “Prime Period” Amazing Spider-Man covers are among the most cherished examples of original art in the hobby, and this is among the best to appear in a public auction.

Among other early original art highlights are the incredible battle cover for Avengers Annual #4 by Sal Buscema and a significant page from the final issue of Watchmen. More highlights are arriving almost daily and will be added to the auction previews, according to ComicLink. Each upcoming auction will include major comic book keys and high grades including Fantucchio Pedigree offerings and desirable original artwork.

Also just posted to the Spring Featured Auction are many examples from the Journey Into Mystery/Thor and the Brave and the Bold runs from the John G. Fantucchio Pedigree collection that ComicLink has been introducing to the market over the past year. The collection features beautifully preserved comic books with bright, bold colors and near newsstand-fresh page quality. Check out new listings from the Fantucchio collection like Journey Into Mystery #92 CGC 9.4 with its early Loki cover and #117 (Kirby cover with Thor battling in Vietnam) CGC 9.8 (single highest graded), and Brave and the Bold #53 (Alex Toth Flash/Atom team-up) CGC 9.6 (single highest graded), #76 (Batman and Plastic Man team-up) CGC 9.8 (single highest graded), and #85 (first revamped Green Arrow with classic Neal Adams cover) CGC 9.8 (highest graded, one of two).

In the Spring Featured Auction preview collectors will also find Brave and the Bold #1 CGC 7.5, one of the top two graded for this 1955 premiere issue of the important DC title, with only a single CGC 8.0 sitting above it on the census. There is an impressive selection of early issues of Fantastic Four in higher grades including #2 (second Fantastic Four, first Skrulls) CGC 8.5, #3 (first Fantastic Four uniforms) CGC 8.0, #8 (first Alicia and Puppet Master) CBCS 9.0, #11 (origin retold, first Impossible Man) CGC 8.0, #13 (first Watcher) CGC 9.0, #14 (early Silver Age Sub-Mariner appearance) CGC 9.4, #15 (first Mad-Thinker) CBCS 9.4, #18 (first Super-Skrull) CGC 9.2, #19 (first Rama-Tut) CGC 9.4, and #48 (first Silver Surfer and Galactus) CGC 9.4. Be sure to check out the Green Lantern #40 CGC 9.6. This 1965 issue has long been an important one in DC history as the origin of Multiverse, the origin of the Guardians of the Universe and the first team-up of the Golden Age and Silver Age Green Lanterns.

The April Focused Auction preview includes Amazing Spider-Man #1 (second Spider-Man, first Jameson) CGC 7.5. More great books and art will be added to the April preview soon.

Just a few other early original art highlights in the Spring Featured Auction preview include Art Adams’ cover to Classic X-Men #12, which was his homage to the original X-Men #1 cover showing the “New” X-Men battling Magneto in place of the original team. There’s also a Jim Lee page from X-Men #8 featuring Rogue along with Gambit and Bishop. The X-Men will be in the spotlight later this year with X-Men: Dark Phoenix opening in November. Just added to the Auction Preview is the cover to The Unexpected #124, a striking example of Neal Adams’ memorable DC horror title covers from the early Bronze Age featuring his “children in peril” motif. Also just in is Mike Sekowsky’s Silver Age cover to Metal Men #33, one of the best covers from that beloved DC run. Modern era Superman fans will see the Dan Jurgens’ splash from the epic Adventures of Superman #500 introducing the Cyborg Superman for the very first time, posing as the returned Superman following his historic death the previous year.
