The auction will also include additional higher grade examples of these two keys including Journey Into Mystery #83 in CGC 7.0 and Tales of Suspense #39 in CGC 8.5.

Other major Silver Age keys already lined up for the Spring Featured Auction are Fantastic Four #1 (first Fantastic Four) CBCS 8.5, which ushered in the Silver Age Marvel era of comic books, and #4 CGC 9.0, which brought the Sub-Mariner into the Silver Age. This Steve Ditko character, who transitioned from Charlton Comics, has been a popular member of the DC Universe now for over 30 years and has been rumored for both movie and TV series projects.

Silver Age highlights in the Spring Featured Auction also include books from the John G. Fantucchio Pedigree collection. A significant original art highlight in the Spring Featured Auction is Todd McFarlane’s cover to Amazing Spider-Man #311 featuring Spider-Man battling Mysterio. It’s the memorable cover where we see Spidey reflected in Mysterio’s globe-like helmet. It’s one of only a handful of covers from McFarlane’s famous run to feature one of the classic Lee/Ditko Spider-Man villains. McFarlane’s “Prime Period” Amazing Spider-Man covers are among the most cherished examples of original art in the hobby, and this is certainly one of the best to ever come up for public auction.

Among other early original art highlights are the incredible battle cover for Avengers Annual #4 by Sal Buscema featuring the original Avengers vs. the Masters of Evil. Collectors will also find a significant Dave Gibbons page from final issue of Watchmen where Ozymandias explains his diabolical plan to Rorschach and Nite Owl. Just a few other early original art highlights in the Spring Featured Auction preview include Art Adams’ cover to Classic X-Men #12, which was his homage to the original X-Men #1 cover showing the “New” X-Men battling Magneto in place of the original team. There’s also a Jim Lee page from X-Men #8 featuring Rogue, Gambit, and Bishop. The X-Men will be in the spotlight later this year with X-Men: Dark Phoenix opening in November.

Other original art highlights include the cover to The Unexpected #124, a striking example of Neal Adams’ memorable DC horror title covers from the early Bronze Age featuring his “children in peril” motif. Silver Age DC fans will see Mike Sekowsky’s cover to Metal Men #33, one of the best covers from that beloved DC run. Swamp Thing fans will see the Tom Yeates cover for Saga of the Swamp Thing #13 featuring Swampy meeting Satan. Modern era Superman fans will see the Dan Jurgens’ finale splash from the epic Adventures of Superman #500 introducing the Cyborg Superman for the very first time, posing as the returned Superman following his historic death the previous year. Some of the newest additions to the auction preview include Earl Norem’s painted cover to Savage Sword of Conan #188 and a page from Joe Madureira’s very first story, an X-Men tale featuring Wolverine and team that appeared in Marvel Comics Presents #89. There’s also James Fry’s cover from issue 132 of that title featuring Ghost Rider and Luke Cage created in a style that really captures the spirit of comic books from the early 1990s.

More highlights are arriving almost daily and each upcoming auction will include major comic book keys and high grades including Fantucchio Pedigree offerings and desirable original artwork.
