eMoviePoster’s August Major Auction contains over 1,200 items which will be auctioned in four parts. The examples in many different sizes come from all over the world with every film decade represented.

Part I, which ends Sunday, August 12, 2018, contains 494 linen-backed posters of all types. Part II, which ends Tuesday, August 14, is filled with 225 oversized linen and non-linen posters, items that ship in large flat packages, campaign books, exhibitor magazines, and more. Part III, which ends Thursday, August 16, features 212 items including an incredible lobby card collection, plus folded one-sheets and other items that ship in standard flat packages. Part IV, which begins Sunday, August 12, has all rolled posters (that can be sent in regular tubes), plus paperbacked posters and a great collection of 22” x 28” personality posters (most of these should be sent in flat packages).

Some of the highlights in Part I are linen-backed one-sheets of Lady Eve with art of Barbara Stanwyck, Breakfast at Tiffany’s featuring Robert McGinnis art, Schindler’s List printer’s test with unused art by Saul Bass, Coast of Folly featuring Gloria Swanson, Astounding She Monster showing the creature from space, Dr. No with colorful art, Jaws for the Steven Spielberg classic, Camping Out with an image of Donald Harris, City That Never Sleeps showing a gunfight, and Star Wars style A international first printing.

Additional linen-backed one-sheets include The Invisible Man Returns for the 1948 rerelease, The Blob with cool art of the monster, Invasion of the Body Snatchers for the sci-fi horror flick, The Graduate style B pre-awards version, King Kong for the 1956 rerelease, Beast from 20,000 Fathoms for the Ray Bradbury film, To Catch a Thief depicting Grace Kelly and Cary Grant, Taxi Driver with Peellaert art, Cool Hand Luke with art by James Bama, Bullitt showing Steve McQueen, and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes depicting Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell.

Three surprising results from the auction that closed on August 7 were a Woman in Green title lobby card for $503, Earth Vs. The Flying Saucers lobby card for $469, and Abbott & Costello Meet the Invisible Man title lobby card for $455.
