Quantcast

A collection of material owned by Frank and Barbara Sinatra sold in a recent Sotheby’s auction for $9.2 million. Their entertainment memorabilia, jewelry, books, art, and other personal items realized about twice the preauction estimate.

One incredible result was the 20-carat diamond engagement ring that realized $1.7 million, exceeding the preauction estimate by $200,000. Nine of the singer’s paintings sold for $850,000, crushing the $120,000 estimate. A Jewish skullcap with Sinatra’s name embroidered on it flew to $9,000, well over the $500 estimate.
