eMoviePoster has finished their three-part March Major Auction with a total of $308,831 in sales. The auction contained 1,062 items from the U.S. and international, covering all decades of film, with a variety of sizes.

Part I, which contained 399 linen-backed posters, ended at $92,210. Part II, featuring 315 larger linen-backed and unbacked posters, plus half-sheets, serial pressbooks, and much more, realized $102,424. Part III with 102 unbacked and paperbacked posters, a collection of 202 rare lobby cards, and other items cleared $114,197.

The highest individual sellers were Dial M for Murder linen-backed one-sheet for $2,950, Goin’ to Town style A linen-backed one-sheet for $2,300, Filibus Italian poster for $5,650, Jazz Singer Austrian linen-backed poster for $3,100, Empire Strikes Back one-sheet test poster for $14,500, Lawrence of Arabia pre-awards one-sheet for $4,700, Wizard of Oz lobby card for $2,900, and Dr. No one-sheet for $2,802.

The auction illustrated how desirable movie posters are and consignors added many items that they had never auctioned or only sold once or twice, according to eMoviePoster. These major auctions have no reserves or buyer’s premiums and use supersized images for bidders to review.
