Weiss Auctions will be featuring an eclectic mix of collectibles ranging from Magic: The Gathering card sets, scarce posters, and various other non-sport cards in their upcoming auction, to be held on June 26, 2019.

Highlights include a collection of significant early Magic: The Gathering cards, including complete Alpha, Beta, and Arabian Nights sets, with many BGS-graded examples in each. Graded standouts include Alpha Black Lotus 8.5, Alpha Mox Pearl 9.5, Beta Time Vault 10.0, Beta Black Lotus 9.0, and Beta Earthquake 9.5, among many others graded at 9.0 and 9.5.

When it comes to Magic, the sets first released in 1993 with the Limited Alpha and Beta sets of cards, before hitting the Unlimited format. The first expansion, Arabian Nights, was released in December 1993, just months after the Limited Editions were printed and sold out. The Black Lotus is one of the most sought-after cards for Magic collectors; its ability to be played for free and then tapped in order to gain three mana of any one color made it incredibly powerful and popular, and it was almost immediately banned from official play accordingly.

Other unique items in this auction include travel posters from the 1950s, an 1880s Allen and Ginter non-sports card collection with more than 600 pieces, signed lithographs with an assortment of artists featured, rare and out of print books, Hollywood photos, American Bandstand material, military medals and uniforms, and much more.
