ComicLink has announced the addition of Fantastic Four #5 CGC 9.4, a major Silver Age key in an unusually high grade, to its upcoming, still growing Spring Featured Auction.
“This superb example of the first appearance of the mega-important villain Doctor Doom features nearly newsstand fresh Off-White to White pages,” ComicLink founder and Managing Director Josh Nathanson said. “This is one of merely 14 certified CGC 9.4 in the world, according to CGC’s census! With just three in the world that have certified higher, this is likely the best any high grade collectors are going to have the opportunity to obtain, and it’s been about two years since a comparable example has surfaced at auction.”
One of the most important villains in the Marvel Universe, Doctor Doom’s role has been central to many essential storylines from early Silver Age tales to the two major Secret Wars series in the 1985-1985 and 2015. Doctor Doom could play a major role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with his first appearance expected in the Fantastic Four movie scheduled for next summer.
