ComicConnect is heading toward the final days of the April Mega Monthly Auction, with over 2,000 lots and more than 1,200 certified comic books. The first session closes on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.

The auction offers keys from across the comic ages, including Ace Comics #2 (one of only four copies in the CGC Census), rare anti-Communist comic Yalta to Korea 9.4, Tales from the Crypt #37 4.0 (featuring the infamous “Strop! You’re Killing Me!”), Amazing Spider-Man #62 8.5 (Medusa battle cover), The Eternals #1 9.8 (CGC Census-topper), and New Mutants #87 9.8 (Cable’s first appearance) scarce newsstand edition.

Highlights include the early Superman #8 6.5, Magic Comics #15 7.5 (Mandrake cover), All Star Comics #27 6.0, Shocking Mystery Cases #50 5.5 (showcasing L.B. Cole’s classic Frankenstein cover), Strange Tales #110 8.5 (Dr. Strange’s first appearance), Giant-Size X-Men #1 9.6, and Fantastic Four #185 and #187, both 9.8 and featuring George Pérez’s art.

Modern Age keys showcased in the auction are Batman: The Dark Knight Returns #1 9.8, Spawn #1 CGC Signature Series Todd McFarlane, and two copies of Ultimate Fallout #4 (Miles Morales first appearance), one 9.8 and a rare 9.6 variant cover. The auction begins closing with rare high grade paperbacks from the Ace reissue campaigns that saw the art of Frank Frazetta revive the works of Edgar Rice Burroughs and Robert E. Howard.
