Sometimes it doesn’t take a serious lineup of superpowers to take down bad guys. Sometimes all it takes is the right woman with the right guns. Elsa Bloodstone has largely proven herself to be the right woman for the job over the last several years, after having debuted in 2001’s Bloodstone #1.

A creation of Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning, and Michael Lopez, Elsa premiered as the lead character of the Bloodstone series but has since gone on to join up with various other heroes. She’s teamed up with other heroines like Valkyrie and Misty Knight as a member of the Fearless Defenders, and later appeared alongside the likes of Monica Rambeau and Machine Man in Nextwave.

Elsa primarily acts as a monster hunter, though has allied herself with some of the most notorious fiends out there – such as Dracula – in order to take down larger threats. As the child of the legendary monster hunter Ulysses Bloodstone (who had been established in the Marvel universe for decades before Elsa’s debut), both Elsa and her brother Cullen were trained throughout their childhood in order to take down such threats. As a result, she’s an expert in marksmanship and has enough knowledge to wield various magical and mythical items efficiently. In addition to that, she possesses an immunity to vampire bites, and her blood is actually toxic to vampires if consumed.

Elsa has also participated in several events, though never in a primary role; she joined Iron Man’s Fifty State Initiative and was one of the heroes to have signed the Superhuman Registration Act, and she later clashed with Captain Marvel during the Civil War II storyline. Though Elsa has primarily been limited to various cameo appearances and hasn’t had much in the way of a starring role in quite some time, she will be featured as a playable character in the upcoming Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order video game.
