Otakon arrived on August 10-12, 2017 for its first year in Washington, DC, for three days packed with anime, manga, panels, and of course cosplay. The long-running convention made the move to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center and fans seemed to appreciate the breathing room that Otakon has needed for quite some time.
