Netflix has found success with their Voltron: Legendary Defender animated series, and now the service will be streaming 12 episodes of the original series under the title Voltron 84 starting on Friday, March 24, 2017. The episodes will be chosen and presented by staff members from the Legendary Defender production team.

The original Voltron aired between 1984 and 1985 and was derived from two Japanese anime series, Beast King GoLion and Armored Fleet Dairugger XV. The series proved to be popular enough to end up with multiple further adaptations of the story, including Voltron: The Third Dimension and Voltron Force. Voltron: Legendary Defender released its second season earlier this year on January 20.
