Some of the top creators in Japan have been hard at work on a Batman-centric anime series, simply titled Batman Ninja. A clip that originally premiered at New York Comic Con has now been officially released online to the public, highlighting the unique animation style that blends traditional anime aesthetics with computer-generated graphics.

Batman Ninja features character design by Takashi Okazaki (Afro Samurai), a screenplay by Kazuki Nakashima (Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill), music by Yugo Kanno (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Psycho-Pass), and is being directed by Jumpei Mizusaki (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure).

The trailer, which can be seen below, provides a look at the unique designs for Batman, the Joker, Robin, Nightwing, Catwoman, and many others. The project will be releasing on DVD and Blu-Ray in 2018.
