The warm-weather edition of the Games Done Quick gaming marathon series, Summer Games Done Quick, will be kicking off on June 24, 2018. The event will be beginning at 12:30 PM ET that day, and will run until the wee hours of the morning on July 1.

The Games Done Quick marathons take place biannually and are held to benefit various charity organizations, including the Prevent Cancer Foundation and Doctors Without Borders. Across the marathons, which began in 2010, more than $14.5 million has been raised for charity.

These marathons focus on “speed-running” video games, which is the act of trying to complete a video game as fast as possible. Many speed-runs make use of glitches in the game in order to advance much faster than the programmers would have originally intended. There are generally sub-categories for runs, such as “100%” runs, “any%” runs, “glitchless” runs, and so on.

Games in this year’s schedule include the lies of Banjo-Tooie, Enter the Gungeon, Mega Man 6, Castlevania, Halo 2, Cuphead, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Super Mario 64, Final Fantasy VI, and many more.
