After several days of speculation, Larian Studios has announced that they are developing Baldur’s Gate III, the next adventure in the renowned Baldur’s Gate series of role-playing games.

The teaser trailer, seen below, “shows a return of a malevolent presence to Baldur's Gate, intent on devouring it from the inside out, corrupting everything that remains in the Forgotten Realms. The fate of the Forgotten Realms lies in your hands.”

Baldur’s Gate first released in 1998, developed by BioWare and using the Dungeons & Dragons setting of the Forgotten Realms. Larian Studios is no stranger to this style of role-playing adventure, having developed the acclaimed Divinity: Original Sin 2. No release date has yet been announced for this new game.
