Classic animation is coming back – and there will be plenty of it. MeTV, the TV network that runs nothing but popular TV shows from yesteryear, has announced the addition of a free animation network.

MeTV Toons is a collaboration between MeTV and Warner Bros. Discovery, featuring the latter’s catalog of classic cartoons. The network will showcase characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Scooby-Doo, Tom & Jerry, Josie and the Pussycats, Yogi Bear, Popeye, Jonny Quest, the Jetsons, the Flintstones, Top Cat, and others.

They will also license animation from other producers featuring the likes of Betty Boop, Casper, Inspector Gadget, Woody Woodpecker, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Speed Racer, and Mister Magoo.

Jerry Beck, the animation historian and co-founder of Cartoon Brew, will produce original content to provide more context to the cartoons that are shown on MeTV Toons. He will oversee programming called “Cartoon College” that will delve into trivia and little known facts about cartoons, their creators, and characters.

A segment called “Quick Schticks” will run throughout the day featuring clips from characters’ most memorable moments.

Voice actor Bob Bergen, who voiced Porky Pig, Tweety, and Marvin the Martian, will be the network’s signature voice.

MeTV Toons launches on June 25, 2024.
