The world celebrates victory over the aliens, but the fight isn’t over. An alien ship unlike any other is deep in the Atlantic Ocean and is being explored by the US military. Captain Joshua Adams and Dr. Jessica Morgan have made contact with a ballistic sub to study the ship.

In issue #2 (of 5) Adams and a group of marines explore the craft, which proves difficult as they try to navigate the giant ship and do battle with surviving crew members. While looking around Adams and the marines find weapons, pieces of alien tech, and even cadavers to study. That is if they can make it off of the ship.

Meanwhile Dr. Morgan researches the ship’s location on the floor of the Atlantic and may have uncovered the ship’s mission.

Victor Gischler is writing a very interesting story. Following in the movie’s footsteps, there’s plenty of combat and foreboding alien technology, but the story is steeped in humanity’s will to survive. Some of the characters are still relatively undefined, but the leads are proving interesting and resourceful. There’s also snippets of humor every few pages.

The art was done by Rodney Ramos, Ivan Rodriguez, Renarto Arlem, and Rui Woberto with colors by Stefani Rennee. They certainly have their work cut out for them given all of the imaginative intricacies of the ship. Thankfully clean lines keep the details from getting lost on the busy pages. The electric blue coloring of the alien weaponry in the movie is also maintained in the comic.
