Previously in Jughead, the gang was forced into treating Reggie like a king after he beat them all in a racing video game. And what the “king for a month” desires more than anything is for Archie, Jughead and the crew to play in a band with him, to be called none other than The Reggies.

Not one to be beat to the punch, Reggie (with the help of Veronica and her credit card) gets the band right into the recording studio. Unfortunately, the band is, quite frankly, terrible. Nothing that a few audio hunks can’t fix in post-production, though. Jughead also has the tech-savvy Dilton do a few video edits, and the one where everyone looks like Jughead himself is, of course, his favorite. It also happens to go totally viral overnight, which turns everyone’s otherwise normal life upside-down pretty quickly.

Jughead continues to be a wildly funny read, and this story arc has been great so far. While Reggie is typically the antagonist, it’s Jughead’s own slip-up that causes the media to descend on Riverdale, and it’ll be interesting to see how he chooses to own up to it – as well as how it impacts his friend circle at large. I would consider Jughead to be the most consistent in quality (on both writing and art) from the New Riverdale lineup from Archie, and it’s really become a must-read at this point.
