Typical to his nature, Cable has been traveling through time trying to stop another dangerous villain from getting too powerful. In this issue, he’s landed in 16th century Japan, where he’s immediately ambushed by a group of samurai wielding energy swords. While he manages to fight them off, he hasn’t caught his antagonist quite yet, and continues on to another place in time.

I thought this was actually a better issue than the first one. The art is definitely more consistently good throughout the issue and conveys the action in a compelling fashion. There’s still not too terribly much going on plot-wise here – it’s still literally “Cable fights a bunch of guys” – but there’s enough action going on to keep things interesting so far.
