Action Comics #992 ended on a cliffhanger with Superman busting through time to Krypton and Booster Gold showing up a second too late to stop him. Now, Clark is seeing confusing images from his past and some from the present that he doesn’t recognize.

Booster, still at the Justice League Watchtower is confronted by another member of the League as he tries to find a way to stop Superman from inflicting anymore damage to the timestream. Back at the Daily Planet, Lois’ day isn’t any better as she learns some distressing news, which is overheard by Jon who looks ready to put his Superboy training to good, if not dangerous, use.

The Mr. Oz story has been pretty dismal and things don’t lighten up much in Action #993. But, it’s fun seeing Superman experiencing Krypton and Booster Gold gets a few nice moments for his efforts (not to mention high praise from another former football player at the Planet). Dan Jurgens did a good job of building tension in this issue, by intermingling Superman’s strange experience with Booster’s urgency and Lois’ new predicament.

The art was a team effort with Jurgens on pencils, Joe Prado and Cam Smith providing finished ink art, and Hi-Fi colors. It’s beautiful throughout the issue with clean lines, expressive characters, some cool page structures, and great colors for Superman and Booster Gold.
