Captain Kirk, our Captain Kirk, has finally discovered the cause of the temporal anomalies. His former friend and Starfleet classmate Gary has engineered a little game to destroy different iterations of Kirk and establish his own dominance.

In IDIC Part 6, Gary shares some of his power with Kirk and they are essentially playing a game to determine the fate of the multiverse. The various versions of the Enterprise crew have already been split and paired, but now they are reshuffled once again. The Spock who hated Kirk and turned him over is with Khan when Klingon Kirk shows up. Bones and male Uhura meet the plant-based Kirk while Romulans have attacked Vulcan, where our Spock and Uhura are saved by female Spock.

IDIC has been very entertaining. First, it’s fun and sometimes funny seeing the different versions of the characters and how they interact with each other. There was lots of potential for “what if” scenarios and the story delivered. While it could just be a silly event about those interactions, each individual thread of IDIC was equally interesting with its own tension.

Mike Johnson and Ryan Parrott did a nice job wrapping up the arc in this issue. It goes by pretty quickly, but is a satisfying conclusion in which the characters prove they are heroic no matter their gender or molecular makeup.
