Writer Teresa Radice and artist Stefano Turconi’s all-ages, Italian graphic novel series gets its first English language release from IDW’s EuroComics imprint and it’s very hard to not quickly fall in love with 12-year-old Violette, who travels with her circus-owning family and a correspondingly odd cast of characters. The story in this first volume, though set more than 150 years ago, is distinctly contemporary as Violette learns to appreciate not being the same as everyone else. Beautifully illustrated and wonderfully paced, it will leave readers eagerly awaiting the next installment.
