It’s a good thing that “Shattered Grid” has been told over several issues in a few titles because this story is packed with exciting content. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #30 begins with a strange meeting between Zordon and Anubis Cruger with Rita Repulsa, herself. Think, enemy of my enemy…

The Rangers from across time and space have finally been able to communicate and gather to launch an offensive against Lord Drakkon. After Jason gives a rousing speech to the contingent of heroes, Kim is given a powerful weapon, and they head to Drakkon’s dimension for battle.

In this issue, Kyle Higgins provided the emotional impact and solid action for this event. So far, the battle isn’t being rushed to a conclusion, thankfully, and it’s setting up a good payoff. We get to see a wide variety of Rangers and weapons, which is highly entertaining.

There are many characters in this issue, with special attention paid to a few. What happens with Kim is a really nice touch, there could be romance in the air for two of the teenage superheroes, and Rita gets the best line of the issue, proving why she is such an intimidating foe.

Artist Daniele Di Nicuolo, ink assistant Simona Di Gianfelice, and colorist Walter Baiamonte had quite a lot to do in this issue. There are dozens of characters, types of armor, and weapons, plus the fight sequences. Plenty of attention is paid to the details of the characters and the nuances that go with them, which helps to solidify the story.
