Following its French release last year, Titan Comics’ Hard Case Crime imprint has brought the world of the Czechoslovakian government to English readers. The Prague Coup is inspired by the real life event of the same name, in which the communist party in Czechoslovak overthrew the government and forever changed the world of international politics.

Taking some artistic liberties, the main focus of the story is that of author Graham Greene. Although Greene was indeed a member of the Communist Party in Britain in 1922, there’s no definitive proof that he was involved in the events of 1948. While working on his latest project, a screenplay for Orson Welles’ The Third Man, Greene finds himself in the midst of an intricate plot to unseat the government of Czechoslovakia. Assisted by the enigmatic Elizabeth Montagu, a seemingly peaceful mission enters into a revolution that history will never forget.

Belgian novelist and screenwriter Jean-Luc Fromental fills in the gaps of Greene’s life to shed some light on a very interesting historical event. Miles Hyman co-writes the story and lends his eye catching illustrations to the entire project. A history lesson with an exciting twist, The Prague Coup is a must read!
