Jon continues his harrowing story of getting home and how it took years, or three Earth weeks, because of space and multi-dimensional travel. The poor kid was held captive by an evil version of his dad and when things left off in the previous issue, he was being attacked by an evil version of his mom. Not good.

This installment did have some ups, he did get home after all, but not without the appearance of some very dangerous individuals. Now that his story is completed, Clark and Lois want to investigate what happened and who Jon saw before he returned to Earth. Things could get ugly.

There was a lot of emotion in this issue, sadness at the loss of years, fear, confusion, and regret, but also gratitude that Jon made it home safely. It’s a layered arc and the creative team led by Brian Michael Bendis, Ivan Reis, and Brandon Peterson, are doing a good job conveying it to readers.
