Livewire has found her way to the Psiots Safety & Education Program, searching for a child whose parents have reported her missing. Serena, the person running the facility, assures Livewire that no one is there against their will, but she doesn’t believe her. This leads to several confrontations with Serena’s righthand woman, Jada, and then finally a conversation with Phoebe herself.

This issue by Vita Ayala gives both a personal and a broader story. Given her background, Livewire is suspicious of PSEP, assuming the group wants to control or contain the psiot children. In a larger sense, we see what Phoebe endured with her parents as her powers manifested and we see news coverage on the situation that leans toward fearing and hating psiots.

Livewire has been a complicated book since it began, which makes for an interesting read without going too far into “us versus them” mentality.
