The second chapter of Frank Miller and John Romita, Jr.’s new take on the first year of Superman’s career is every bit as compelling as the first. Beautifully produced in a format that is simultaneously familiar to comics and well beyond your average comic book, Miller and Romita are clearly in a groove. Their previous collaborations – Daredevil: Man Without Fear, and more recently a back-up in Dark Knight III: The Master Race – have been superb and it looks very much like this project will measure up. Danny Miki’s inks and Alex Sinclair’s colors really add to the experience.
