Many books are dedicated to understanding the genius behind comic creators, usually focused on their talent and training. The upcoming book, Masters of Comics: Inside the Studios of the World’s Premier Graphic Storytellers, takes a tour of their fortresses of solitude.

Curated by Joel Meadows (editor of Tripwire Magazine), Masters of Comics ventures inside masters’ studios to explore the creative spaces and processes by important artists behind such iconic characters and properties as Batman, Spider-Man, and Game of Thrones.

Through dynamic photography and exclusive interviews, the book presents a rare, personal look at the artists’ creative environments where great comics and graphic novels have been created. Milo Manara (The Ape, Click), Bill Sienkiewicz (New Mutants, Legion), Walter Simonson (Thor, Fantastic Four), and others are among the featured creators.

This is the first in a series centered around artists who worked in a variety of mediums. It takes a different look at talented creators, providing insight into their domains and a learning tool for aspiring artists who want to learn from the greats.

Masters of Comics, published by Insight Editions, will be available on June 4, 2019. The 184-page hardcover measures 7-3/4” x 11”. It will retail for $24.99.
