Thanks to our friend Eric Caren for submitting a fascinating discovery to us here at Scoop. He uncovered an 1831 newspaper with a full page comic illustrated prospectus for a new title called The Comic Mirror. The newspaper's text notes the upcoming comic as being an entirely new work, which according to the publisher is unprecedented in the United States, and will be available May 1832.
