The Towson University Department of Theater Arts is presenting Lasso of Truth, a humorous play that delves into the feminist origins of the superhero Wonder Woman, tracing her rocky journey from America’s cultural margins to her current legendary status.
The play was created by Carson Kreitzer and first debuted in 2015, and takes place over two different time periods: one with The Inventor, The Wife, and The Amazon, and a modern one with The Girl and The Guy. The play is typically staged using a series of projections and stage pieces to create the sense of the actors appearing within comic book pages.
Towson’s presentation of Lasso of Truth is directed by Steven J. Satta, and will run on March 5-12, 2020. More information can be found online.
