Jim Thompson will share his experiences as a judge for the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards in a Zoom presentation on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 4 PM PT. Jim Thompson: Judging the Eisner Awards is organized by the Humanities & Sciences ArtCenter College of Design.

Thompson is an attorney, and a comics scholar, historian, and podcaster who was recently a judge for the Eisners. For this program, Thompson will join Michael Dooley, a 2020 Eisner judge and comics professor and historian.

Together they will talk about their experiences judging the awards, breaking down the duties, process, and more. They’ll also discuss and debate comics across different genres and award categories.

This is a free online presentation by Dooley’s Design History of Comics and Animation. Since it’s a Zoom event the audience can participate and ask questions. A Zoom link will be sent out 15 minutes before the event.
