Due to George Pérez’s declining health, the signing he was going to do with CGC has been cancelled.

In early December 2021, Pérez announced that he has stage 3 pancreatic cancer and doctors estimated that he had between six months and a year to live. Given the short timetable, Pérez chose to forego treatment in order to enjoy as much as his remaining days as possible. He also expressed interest in trying to do signings and meeting as many fans as possible.

“Our thoughts are with George and his family during this difficult and private time. So many fans have submitted books for this final signing with George Pérez, and we know all will be heartbroken with this news,” the CGC announcement reads.

CGC stated that they are working on returning submissions back to collectors. Those who submitted comics for the Pérez signing will receive an email from the Signature Series team.
