BOOM! Studios has hired David Mariotte as an Editor. Prior to joining the publisher, he spent seven years with IDW, overseeing their licensed titles like Samurai Jack, Dungeons & Dragons, and Godzilla, as well as original titles such as Scarenthood, The Kill Lock, and Canto.

Mariotte spent five years editing the Sonic the Hedgehod series and had a long run on Transformers and other Hasbro titles. He also wrote for licensed titles, including Transformers vs. the Terminator.

“David comes to our team with a remarkable reputation for editing thrilling, artistically daring, and commercially successful titles, with a real talent for shepherding genre pushing storytelling across both licensed and original properties,” BOOM! Editor-in-Chief Matt Gagnon said. “I am beyond thrilled to welcome him to BOOM! Studios, and cannot wait to share with the world the slate of projects he will be working on.”

Mariotte joins BOOM! as the company celebrates the tenth anniversary of the BOOM! Box imprint and the fifth anniversary of their Something is Killing the Children shared universe known as the Slaughterverse. The publisher is also working on new initiatives across their original and licensed titles.
