Insight Studios Groups creators, including Mark Wheatley and Marc Hempel, are returning to the Baltimore Comic-Con. Scheduled for September 20-22, 2024, this will be the 25th consecutive year that Insight Studios will attend the con.

Wheatley and Hempel have collaborated on several projects, including Tarzan, Jonny Quest, Titanic Tales, and Blood of the Innocent. Recently they restored their Vertigo graphic novel, Breathtaker, for Titan Comics, which was originally serialized and collected over 20 years ago. They will be joined by Mark Redfield, Martha Thomases, Glenn Hauman, Daniel Krall, and Jennifer Rouse.

Wheatley, Redfield, and Rouse will present the Frankenstein Mobster Monsterama Audio Drama at the convention. Based on Wheatley’s graphic novel, the audio drama features the voice talents of Daniel Roebuck (The Munsters), Debbie Rochon (Exorcism of Fleete Marish), and Redfield.

Wheatley’s Nucleus X, which just completed its Kickstarter campaign, will debut at the con. It features new stories from Mars, Frankenstein Mobster, and Radical Dreamer. He will showcase limited edition giclee art prints of his poster for Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon films, his Edgar Rice Burroughs Visions of Adventure portfolio, and the oversized hardcover Songs of Giants.

Wheatley’s accomplishments include co-developing Doctor Cthulittle, creating designs for Lady Gaga, the Black Eyed Peas, and the shows Beauty and the Beast, The Millers, and 2 Broke Girls. His creations also include Breathtaker, Ez Street, and he worked on Tarzan, Jonny Quest, The Flash, Stargate Atlantis, and Doctor Who.

Artist and writer Hempel collaborated with Neil Gaiman on The Sandman and is known for his work with Wheatley on Breathtaker, Mars and Blood of the Innocent. He created Gregory, Tug & Buster, and the humor anthology Naked Brain. His art has appeared in Marvel Fanfare, Epic Illustrated, Heavy Metal, Jonny Quest, Clive Barker’s Hellraiser, and more.

Redfield is an actor, voice actor, artist, and filmmaker, who has produced multiple audiobooks and films. His latest novel The Chaney Murder Case will debut at the con. His work includes Vampire Hunters Incorporated, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Cold Harbor, and Netflix’s The Fall of the House of Usher.

Rouse is a composer, sound designer, and voice over artist, who has scored films like The Death of Poe and The Avenging Conscience. She worked on the audio dramas Frankenstein Mobster and Songs of Giants.

Thomases is a writer who created Dakota North, and has contributed to the Village Voice, New York Daily News, and High Times. Her upcoming graphic novel, Second-Hand Rose will be published by A Wave Blue World.

Hauman is a writer, editor, and designer known for They Keep Killing Glenn. He is also known for writing about the comics industry for ComicMix.

Krall works in comics, editorial illustration, and animation. His work has been featured at DC, Dark Horse, and Image, as well as Netflix Animation, The New Yorker, and Amazon.
