Kevin Maguire’s art has been featured in several popular DC and Marvel books, including Justice League, Captain America, and X-Men. He helped launch Team Titans and The New 52 revival of World’s Finest, and he also worked on The Defenders and Doom Patrol. Maguire was recently a guest at Baltimore Comic-Con, where he did a short interview with Scoop in between meeting fans.

Scoop: Are you having fun this weekend?
Kevin Maguire (KM): Yes, I’m having fun.

Scoop: What are fans most excited to talk to you about?
KM: Oh, Justice League, of course.

Scoop: Have you been surprised by anything that fans have brought up when they meet you?
KM: Nobody’s really surprising me.

Scoop: What are you working on now?
KM: Nothing really, I’m doing creator owned stuff, very, very slowly. One day I’ll finish it and put it out there in the world. At the moment it’s mostly commissions and convention stuff.

Scoop: You’ve worked on a lot of great characters, are there some that you would like to work on that you haven’t yet?
KM: Not really, I’ve been at this for 35 years, I really have gotten to tackle every corner of the spandex universe.

Scoop: What do you like about Baltimore Comic-Con?
KM: It’s an artists show, as opposed to a lot of celebrities. It’s got a gigantic collection of talented artists and writers. It’s a great party afterwards too.

Scoop: Which shows are on your schedule for the rest of the year?
KM: New York Comic Con, MCM London, Fan Expo San Francisco, and I think that brings me up to the end of 2023.

Scoop: Well thank you for chatting with me.
KM: No problem, thank you.
